Reduce reliance on paper health insurance cards.
Implementing Project 06 on the development of population data applications, electronic identification and authentication, the Social Insurance Agency of Dong Nai City, in coordination with the health sector, has integrated the use of chip-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD) into the patient reception process. Health insurance card information can be looked up on the system, reducing the number of documents people need to carry and assisting medical facilities in verifying the information and benefits of participants.
According to the Social Insurance Department of Dong Nai City, as of the end of July 2026, Dong Nai had over 4.19 million people participating in health insurance. Therefore, using the national identity card to look up health insurance card information is of practical significance in serving the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the area. Instead of presenting a paper health insurance card along with personal identification documents for verification, people can use the chip-embedded national identity card for medical facilities to look up their participation information and the validity of their health insurance card.
