Lai Chau
The People's Committee of Lai Chau province recently submitted Document No. 8720/TTr-UBND dated October 8, 2026 to the State Appraisal Council regarding the pre-feasibility study report for the Bao Ha - Lai Chau expressway construction project, specifically the Bao Ha - Tan Phong section, with a preliminary total investment of approximately 50,990 billion VND.

This is the dossier finalized by the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee after incorporating and addressing the opinions of the State Appraisal Council at its meeting on October 7, 2026, based on the pre-feasibility study report that the locality submitted to the Prime Minister in August 2026.
According to Report No. 8720, the Project belongs to the group of nationally important projects, is implemented in the form of public investment, and falls under the authority of the National Assembly to decide on investment policies.
The route included in the Project is approximately 119 km long, with its starting point at the intersection with the Hanoi - Lao Cai Expressway (Km196+700), in Bao Ha commune, Lao Cai province; and its end point at the intersection with Le Loi Boulevard, in Tan Phong ward, Lai Chau province.
Of the total length of the route, the section passing through Lao Cai province is approximately 49.5 km and the section passing through Lai Chau province is approximately 69.5 km, both proposed to be invested in as a 4-lane expressway with a design speed of 80-100 km/h.
